MUSWELL HILL, LONDON

Reconfiguration, renovation and decoration of a period mansion flat in Muswell Hill, North London.

The flat was significantly reconfigured to create an open-plan kitchen and living space, while enlarging the bathroom. The interior architectural details were revised throughout, with new internal doors, skirting, dado rails, modernist style panelling and cornicing introduced to complement the period of the property. Dark timber flooring was laid throughout, with antique brass detailing running consistently across the scheme.

The interiors were designed around a calm, warm palette, using creamy whites, taupes and blush shades. Mid-century and antique furniture are layered with contemporary pieces, while textured wallcoverings, including seagrass and shagreen, add depth and tactility. A bespoke modernist-style Carrara marble fireplace was installed and this finish was carried through into the bathroom.

The result is a calm, contemporary home with a layered mix of texture, colour and collected pieces.
